10A COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL MARCH 15, 2017 WORD ON THE STREET What's your favorite thing about Cottage Grove? "The Cottage Theatre. It's my home away from home. I'm the artistic di- rector and occasionally, I act. We call it the sucking sound. Once you're in, it sucks all of your time. I've volun- teered 2,000 hours in a year. I call it my second full-time job that I don't get paid for."-Amanda Ferguson, Cot- tage Grove City Planner "What I love about Cottage Grove is the small-town feeling where you can walk around town, shop and feel safe while doing it."-Jeff Gowing, Cottage Grove Mayor "My favorite thing is the people. Cottage Grove is almost a unique- ly friendly community. I fi nd myself amazed almost weekly to fi nd another group working to help their neigh- bors."- Jake Boone, Cottage Grove City Councilman Word on the Street is coming to a street near you.
